BJ The Chicago Kid f/ Kendrick Lamar - “His Pain” (Mixtape, 2011/2012)
It’s not often that one gets the chance to use the word “lovely” when describing a rap song but goddammit if this isn’t a lovely rap song. Originally an outtake from the Section.80 sessions, it’s now set to appear on BJ’s forthcoming Pineapples & Now-Laters.
El Camino blows my mind every time. The volume of my speakers can’t go high enough to satisfy me because the music rocks so fucking much that I want to be consumed by it. The Black Keys takes us back to the glory days of Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Jimi Hendrix. This is the best southern-infused rock n’ roll of our generation, I don’t think much more needs to be said, just listen.
The girl that keeps my spirits high when I can’t listen to any of my music - you know y’all have days like that, just drops the promised song with Machinedrum. Fucking raw. Plus an Aaliyah sample. So much love.
This must be one of Erykah Badu’s most slept on songs ever. The song “Vibrate On” was released on the “Girlfriends” soundtrack. Quite honestly we think you should go buy yourself a copy over at iTunes.
